The goggles were part of a collection of 100 pairs of motoring and aviation goggles, each one different from the next, that formed the archive of the manufacturer Chr. Kraus & Co, covering the period circa 19001950. It appears that more recently the company, which was based in Frth, Bavaria, Germany, went through some kind of upheaval or takeover and decided to sell the
