The letter is penned on EXECUTIVE MANSION STATIONARY and was signed "Mrs. Lincoln" while serving AS FIRST LADY. The letter is postmarked February 23, 1865 just two months before Lincoln was assassinated. Lincoln pens on upside down Executive Mansion stationary: "Mrs. Cuthbert Metropolitan Hotel New York Return home Mrs. Lincoln."
