Though Sanguine Bond is the classic pairing with Exquisite Blood, Vito is better, both because it can be your commander and because its much cheaper

and Gwenna, Eyes of Gaea can generate big mana while also being creatures you can potentially cheat onto the battlefield later on

With the increase in power level and average converted mana cost each card counts that much more and so you just cannot afford to have cards that do not help you out in other ways

In fact, Im sure there are some Johnny players out there that see this list as challenge to build some decks around these cards, and thats fine by me
