Native American carved loop handle splint ash basket (1900-1920) Abstract & Contemporary Dimensions: 13" L x 4"Native American splint ash basket with carved and bent fixed loop handle which has been flattened at the apex. The rim of the basket is comprised of two 3 8" splints which capture the 1" ash spline woven from either side of the rim. The upper rim is interwoven with a 3 8" ash spline over a 1" spline, reverting to 3 8" inch spline to lower the sides of the basket. Fine original condition. Native American, Winnebago Ho Chunk, circa 1900. Condition: Fine
